This sign welcomes all who enter the Meadows at Mill Hill, a lovely collection of 73 townhomes in 32 buildings, built by The Michaels Group between 2011 and 2016. There were 11 floorplans to choose from, with endless options for tailoring homes to one's needs and preferences.
There are a number of wonderful things about MMH, including:
Location: close to so much in the Guilderland area, from shopping at the adjacent Stewart's store, the 20 mall, Crossgate's Shopping Center, Stuyvesant Plaza, and several area supermarkets, to enjoying activities at Tawasentha Park and the Guilderland Library; and the Northway is easily accessible.
Maintenance free: the homeowners association contracts for mowing and landscape services as well as snow removal. Each lawn is treated regularly with weed killer and fertilizer and each has a sprinkler system to keep grass healthy.
|
The people who live here: we are a mature adult community; each residence is required to be occupied by at least one individual age 55 or older. There is a committee that plans activities for all who are interested:
|
Social Activities: Many enjoying mingling in social activities, such as the recent "Parade of Homes" when eight homes opened their doors to about 20 neighbors, and we visited and enjoyed hor d'oeuvres at each open house before "parading" to the next one. There are also book clubs, tips on gardening, committees, neighbors helping neighbors, and the occasional spur of the moment "bring your chairs down and let's watch the fireworks". We can see Albany County Club's fireworks pretty well from several areas in the neighborhood. |

Walking: The community is ringed by sidewalks, making walking easy and pleasant. Neighbors gather to walk for exercise or just to relax. There are many pets in the neighborhood too, all leashed, well-behaved, and adorable, of course!!
Mailbox Kiosk: Getting the mail is convenient, and conversations often start up around chance meetings.
|
Lovely Surroundings: In addition to the beauty of the green grass, trees, flowers, and landscaping, we are bordered in the back by the Normanskill Creek. There are many sightings of interesting wildlife including deer, turkeys, and an occasional possum. The birds are plentiful, and we have quite a number of pretty and pleasant-sounding "killdeers" that can be seen hopping and flying around; several kinds of woodpeckers; hummingbirds; and there have been numerous hawk and bald eagle sightings. |
